The Teamcore Group (https://teamcore.seas.harvard.edu) at the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University seeks motivated postdoctoral fellows with a Ph.D. in computer science/engineering or a related field to work on AI projects with societal impact. We are working on projects related to public health, equity and fairness, and wildlife conservation. We seek researchers who are enthusiastic about interacting with computer scientists and colleagues from other disciplines and who have a demonstrated interest in connecting their research agenda with societal issues.
Prof. Milind Tambe's Teamcore group has focused on "AI for social good" for the past decade, covering topics such as, but not limited to: (i) AI for conservation (e.g., for protection of endangered wildlife, forests, fisheries); (ii) AI for public safety and security; (iii) AI for public health. Their research focuses on fundamental research problems in computational game theory, security games, machine learning in multiagent settings, automated planning under uncertainty, influence maximization and others that are driven by these topics, ensuring a virtuous cycle of research and real-world applications. Examples of research driven by real-world problems include challenges of learning and handling bounded rationality models of human (adversary) behavior from real-world data, solving massive scale games uncertainty, algorithms that enable influence maximization in social networks under dynamism and uncertainty.
Harvard University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. We are particularly interested in attracting women and underrepresented groups to participate in Teamcore.
For further information about the Teamcore lab and its activities, see https://teamcore.seas.harvard.edu.
Please submit your application as soon as possible; we will review materials on a rolling basis and the position will be open for applications until filled.
A complete application will include:
- A cover letter addressing what you hope to gain from your time at Teamcore
- A CV
- A 2-3 page research statement
- At most, three research papers
- Three letters of reference
References for postdoctoral fellows should upload their letters to ARIeS.
