USCG: Acquisition Directorate News Article: Acquisition Update: U.S. Coast Guard Awarded the Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice

A team of 10 researchers from the Coast Guard Research and Development Center, University of Southern California, and University of Chile were recognized April 8, 2013, as the recipients of the 2013 Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice at the annual Institute for Operations Research and the Management Science (INFORMS) Analytics Conference in San Antonio. The Coast Guard Research and Development Center and its partners’ prize-winning project was titled “A Deployed Quantal Response-Based Patrol Planning System for the U.S. Coast Guard.” The Wagner prize emphasizes the quality and coherence of analysis used in practical problems.
